Why Many In Idaho Have Adopted The Chicago Bears In 2026
While Idaho might not have a professional sports team to lay claim to, that doesn't mean that Gem State residents aren't fanatical about their squads. I've been hearing a great deal of chatter from some Idaho residents lately who have adopted the Chicago Bears as a playoff hopeful due to one athlete in particular who has come on strong in the last couple of weeks of the NFL season.
My team was eliminated in the wild card playoff round over this past weekend, so I no longer have a 'dog in the fight.' I do believe that this is the year the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen capture their first ever world championship. I'm predicting the Bills beat the Rams 48-45 in Superbowl 60 in February.
Idaho fans of Chicago Bears' rookie tight end Colston Loveland may not have heard a lot about him during the regular season, but his name has certainly been called a lot in the last couple of weeks of the NFL season. Loveland missed several games due to injury, but has been huge for the team as of late.

Loveland set a Bears record for receiving yards in a playoff game Saturday by grabbing eight receptions for 137 yards against the Green Bay Packers and helping to end the 2025-26 season for "Cheeseheads." He's adjusted quite well to life in the big league.
