Country Duo Big & Rich Performing In Southern Idaho This Week

Country recording artists Big & Rich will stop in southeastern Idaho on Wednesday evening for one performance. The November 30 date is the band's final of the year before heading east to Pennsylvania in January to continue the tour.

I remember when these guys burst on the scene with their monster hit and Grammy Award-winning jam, "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy," in 2004. I not only was doing a morning show at an FM station out west that year but was also deejaying part-time at a bar when the song started getting radio play, and I got inundated with requests.

If I had a dollar for every twenty-something female wearing tight jeans that asked me to play that song in 2004 and 2005, I could have retired already. It was, and still is, a catchy tune, and one that peaked at number 56 on the Billboard Charts.

Even though many of the band's songs haven't exactly reached the top of the charts, Big & Rich is no one-hit-wonder. Their 2007 single "Lost in the Moment," was a top 40 hit, and they've recorded six other songs that have charted in the top 100.

Tickets are still available on a number of sales sights. The band is scheduled to take the stage Wednesday night at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls at 7 P.M. Don't forget to pack that cowboy/girl hat if you're heading east from the Magic Valley. It takes about two and a half hours to drive to the venue from Twin Falls, so you'll want to get on the road by 2 P.M. if possible.
