Decades-Old Murders, Disappearances Along Idaho Road Unsolved
For more than 50 years, a series of disappearances and murders along a northern Idaho highway have remained unsolved despite several suspects being investigated. Victims were found on both sides of the Washington / Idaho border in the seventies and eighties, which means a serial killer could still be living near a college community.
At least five victims are thought to have been kidnapped and murdered by the same individual between 1979 and 1982 near the Lewis-Clark Valley southwest of Moscow, Idaho. These unsolved murders, in which one young victim was found dismembered and stuffed into garbage bags, have left numerous people's lives shattered for a half-century and counting.
Investigation Discovery featured the stories in a 2018 documentary titled Cold Valley, which helped jumpstart the investigation. To this day, no one has been brought to justice for these crimes.
