Monday, January 19, 2015 is Martin Luther King Junior Day. Do you have the day off from work?

Wondering why we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day? According to Wikipedia:

American federal holiday marking the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around the time of King's birthday, January 15. The floating holiday is similar to holidays set under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act.

However, I prefer how "The King Center" puts the holiday:

It is a day of interracial and intercultural cooperation and sharing.

Yes, I do have to work on Monday, but that's OK. I don't need a day off to appreciate Martin Luther King Jr. If all of us could be just a sliver of his compassion, this world would be a better place.
