‘Doctor Who’ Season 8 Trailer: Peter Capaldi Treks Into Darkness
The BBC's 'Doctor Who' has played a bit coy with its recent teasers introducing Peter Capaldi as the 12th incarnation of our beloved Time Lord for season 8, but the World Cup brings everything out into the open. See dinosaurs in London, robot faces and exploding TARDIS abound in the first full trailer for 'Doctor Who' season 8, coming this August!
"I don't think I know who the Doctor is anymore," says Clara amid a flurry of shots teasing everything from Daleks, to Cybermen, Madame Vastra, and a Tyrannosaurus skulking about the streets of London. Later on in the minute-long spot, Peter Capaldi's newest incarnation warns "I'm the Doctor. I've lived for over 2000 years. I've made many mistakes, and it's about time I did something about that."
Elsewhere, we've heard at least a few rumblings that former series star Matt Smith could make a special appearance in the premiere, though producers are keeping tight-lipped. Samuel Anderson will guest in the new season as mysterious new companion Danny Pink, while Keeley Hawes will portray the villainous Ms. Delphox, in episode written by ‘Sherlock”s Steve Thompson and directed by Douglass Mackinnon. Ben Miller will portray yet another villain, Hermione Norris has also been given a mysterious role, and Green Wing' actress Michelle Gomez will play "The Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere."
We won't be seeing 'Doctor Who' at Comic-Con 2014, but the eighth season's trek "into darkness" more than has us primed for August 23 premiere. While we wait, check out the trailer above, and tell us in the comments what you want to see from the new episodes!
