Former East Idaho City Councilman Charged with Sex Crimes
AMMON, Idaho (KLIX)-A 44-year-old east Idaho man who recently resigned as a city councilman is facing multiple sex crimes charges following an arrest by Idaho State Police. Byron Wiscombe, of Ammon, is facing one charge of lewd conduct with a minor child, sexual battery of a minor child, video voyeurism, and sexual battery after being arrested Wednesday at his place of employment, according to ISP. Detectives with ISP made the arrest in cooperation with the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office and Bonneville County Prosecutor's office. Eastidahonews.com first reported Wiscombe resigned recently from his position as an Ammon city councilman in early December last year without any reason given. He had been elected to serve another term. According to ISP, the victim is known to Wiscombe.
