Earlier today Game of Thrones Season 5 shone a light on over a dozen new photos of the upcoming run, but why stop there? The HBO fantasy drama leaves the world of Westeros behind in its first formal clips of Season 5, along with new photos of Dornish and Lannister characters we’ve yet to meet.

Our first look at Game of Thrones Season 5 clips (not counting those rinky-dink “Sight” sneak peeks) features Tyrion and Varys in their new life out on the lam, while the second heads north to Castle Black, as Jon Snow questions Mance Rayder’s unwillingness to unite the Wildlings once more. Elsewhere, even more photos from the network, reveal our first look at Nell Tiger Free (seriously) assuming the role of Myrcella Baratheon, and more up-close shots of the Sand Snakes.

So reads the new season’s first episode synopses:

Episode #41: “The Wars to Come”: Cersei and Jaime adjust to a world without Tywin. Varys reveals a conspiracy to Tyrion. Dany faces a new threat to her rule. Jon is caught between two kings. (Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Michael Slovis.)

Episode #42: “The House of Black and White”: Arya arrives in Braavos. Pod and Brienne run into trouble on the road. Cersei fears for her daughter’s safety in Dorne as Ellaria Sand seeks revenge for Oberyn’s death. Stannis tempts Jon. An adviser tempts Dany. (Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Michael Slovis.)

Episode #43: “High Sparrow”: In Braavos, Arya sees the Many-Faced God. In King’s Landing, Queen Margaery enjoys her new husband. Tyrion and Varys walk the Long Bridge of Volantis. (Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Mark Mylod.)

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 5 (already renewed for 6, with the cast signed through 7, and further talk of beyond), we know of multiple returning, confirmed absent, and new characters cast, confirming the show’s trip to Spain. The story will draw heavily from George R.R. Martin’s fourth and fifth novels, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, while HBO has also provided a list of directors, as well as insight into which literary stories may not make the transition to film.
