Great Horned Owl Stalking Cats In Twin Falls ID Neighborhood
A familiar large-eyed visitor is back and apparently flexing its scapulars in a southern Idaho neighborhood. Yeah, I had to look that word up; it means shoulders.
Word has gotten around in a Twin Falls neighborhood concerning cats being stalked by at least one winged, nocturnal predator. It appears the Great Horned Owl is terrorizing pussy cats near Falls Avenue West.
A Ring doorbell camera subscriber posted to her neighborhood messaging app Tuesday night (February 10) to warn neighbors off Falls Avenue West (behind Cafe Rio) in Twin Falls about a Great Horned Owl that tried to carry off a neighbor's cat.

'Horned owl in the neighborhood. Caught it trying to grab a cat last evening (Monday night),' the area resident uploaded from her smartphone to the Ring app. 'The owl is BIG. The Lilac in my yard.'
The witness also shared a photo of the owl, but I wasn't able to get permission to share it—harsh realities of the job.
I'm not sure what she meant by the Lilac comment. Maybe owls are attracted to them.

These magnificent creatures are, of course, no strangers to Idaho. They are spotted quite frequently in Twin Falls County and commonly try to grab area cats. A southern Idaho resident shared a beautiful picture of one in her tree last July.
Owls are out nightly, with their sights set on Mr. (or Mrs.). Bigglesworth, so if your cat hasn't checked in lately, you might want to take a drive around.
