A convicted felon from Idaho Falls was arrested recently east of Los Angeles after being pulled over for a traffic stop. Numerous weapons and ammunition were found in the vehicle resulting in detainment at an area detention center.

One thing you don't want to do as a convicted felon is get caught with fire arms. In Idaho, possessing firearms after a felony conviction results in severe punishment. In California, the crime is taken as seriously as it is in the Gem State.

Idaho Falls Felon Caught East Of LA With Guns, Ammo, And Brass Knuckles

A 44-year-old Idaho man was pulled over near the community of Rancho Cucamonga, 50 miles east of Los Angeles, and taken to jail after officers discovered three firearms, several rounds of ammo, and brass knuckles, according to details shared by KTLA 5. One of the firearms was loaded at the time the man was pulled over.

It's not known why the man was traveling to the LA area. The case is still being investigated.

The punishment in Idaho for getting caught with firearms after a felony conviction can carry a $5,000 fine and up to five years prison time, according to Schofield and Young. In California, a jail sentence of 16 months to three years in normal, and fines can reach $10,000, according to Kirk Tarman & Associates.
