If you'd like to watch the food chain play itself out before your eyes, you need to plan to road trip to the Idaho Falls Zoo in July. They have an event where they will be feeding the animals meat and you can join in on the fun.

The event is called "Carnivore Craze" and it's set for Saturday, July 15. Yes, the predators will be on display consuming their natural diet. If you've ever gone to the zoo hoping to see lions and tigers and been disappointed when they're sleeping, they won't be sleeping during this special time.

"Carnivore Craze" is free with a zoo admission, but the Idaho Falls Zoo isn't free. Admission for adults is $7.50, kids 4 to 12 are $4.50 and kids under 4 won't cost you.

My wife and kids love zoos even if the animals are mellow. So, July 15 should be really fun for everyone who needs a little more Wild Kingdom in their day.

The Idaho Falls Zoo is a joyous 2 1/2 hour drive from Twin Falls, if you're up for it.
