We're probably not telling you anything you didn't already know by informing you that eggs are pretty expensive in 2025. That's not news.

What is news, however, is how quickly the price of eggs is rising, and how high it's already gotten.

Okay, what's going on? How much am I paying for eggs in Idaho right now?

A lot. A whole lot.

As of March, the average price for a dozen eggs here in the U.S. was right around $6.22. That number continues to grow as we come up on the end of April.

If you're doing the math at home, that is a whopping 84% increase from what eggs were selling for on January 1st, 2025.

Needless to say, we have no idea when eggs will cease rising in costs, nor do we know precisely how high the price of a dozen eggs will creep up to.
