There Has Been A Dramatic Rise In Alzheimer's Disease Deaths In Idaho Since 2015
In Idaho, Alzheimer's Disease has been on the rise in the past decade. What was once an average of approximately 640 deaths per year linked to the disease between 2015 and 2020 has averaged well over 800 deaths between 2021 and 2025, according to data from both ALZ.org and the National Center for Health Statistics.

Some might think this increase is due to more people moving to Idaho from other states, but since the average age of Alzheimer's Disease onset is 65 (HopkinsMedicine.org), this isn't likely the reason behind the rise in related deaths.
The average lifespan once Alzheimer's Disease forms is between four and eight years when diagnosed before age 70, according to data from the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
