Children in Danger in ID, WA, and UT
Human Trafficking and sex trafficking have been everywhere over the last few years, and honestly, it has been everywhere for a long time, but the world is more alert to it than ever before. It is terrifying to think of someone you love and care about being taken from you, sold like an object, and mistreated. Sadly, Idaho, Washington, and Utah are not immune to this type of crime, and children in each state have been getting taken and trafficked for far too long. While some are in denial and many think it will never happen to them or their children, it can. Lately, it seems like children in Idaho, Washington, and Utah are in more danger than ever before, and parents need to be on high alert before something happens.
Children in Danger in Idaho, Washington, and Utah
Lately, it seems like more pedophiles are being revealed in Idaho, Washington, and Utah. It isn't only the creepy man you see in the store, but it is people that you would least expect. Seeing how I have to read through the news for my job, you would be surprised how many I come across that feature teachers who are having an illegal relationship with their students. It is alarming to see each day in the news that another teacher is being arrested for interacting with an underage student sexually. While some will joke that the student should be lucky, or 'where was that when I was a kid', the effects it has on these young individuals are often ignored, and how it will affect them growing up. It isn't only teenagers being targeted, though, as young children are being scouted for even worse.
Kidnapping and Trafficking in Idaho, Washington, and Utah
A story recently came out of a group of men watching, taking pictures, and pointing out young children at an Idaho lake, and it raised awareness to many parents in the area that trafficking is closer to home than many realize. Most of us grew up in a time when we would ride our bikes, go to friends' houses, and play sports in the streets without a care in the world. Often, parents didn't know where their children were, and as long as they were home for dinner, everything worked out. Nowadays, parents are afraid to let their children get the mail at the end of the driveway because they can't trust anyone. No state or place is immune to trafficking these days, and it seems to be getting worse.

Make sure when you are in public, you are constantly aware of your surroundings and never leave your children unattended. Sadly, society has gotten to this point, but you can't trust anyone talking to your children these days or letting them walk to school, ride their bike, or walk to a friend's house alone. While it may seem like you are being a helicopter parent, it is better to hover than to lose your child. It's not your child you don't trust; it's everyone else.
