It is difficult for emergency responders to have to respond to a fatal crash. It’s even more so on Christmas Eve. The Idaho State Police are investigating 2 separate fatal crashes on Idaho highways.

Fatal Collision of 2 Vehicles South of Aberdeen

After 5 and a half hours, traffic was able to resume on SH39 after a fatal crash on December 24th. ISP responded to a two-vehicle collision at about 11:30 near milepost 10 in Bingham County.

A 2018 Ford F150, driven by a 46-year-old male from Aberdeen, was traveling northbound when the driver crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a 2020 Freightliner driven by a 43-year-old female from Jerome.
The driver of the Ford F150 succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver of the Freightliner was wearing her seat belt and was transported to a local hospital.

Single Vehicle Fatal Crash Northwest of Shoshone

ISP reported a crash on December 24th just before 2:30 PM in Lincoln County at the intersection of 470 North and 375 West.

A 30-year-old-male from Jerome was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on 470 North at the intersection of 375 West when he failed to negotiate the curve, struck a power pole, and rolled.
The driver of the Jeep was transported via personal vehicle to a local hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

After 2 hours the area was cleared for traffic to resume regularly.

The Idaho State Police would like drivers to help prevent fatalities on Idaho Roads. Dial *ISP (*477) from your cell phone anywhere in Idaho if you think you may see what might be an impaired driver.
