Mazes, Swamps, Dogs, and Running This Weekend in the Magic Valley

September is gone, and the calendar has now turned to October. Attention will turn towards Halloween time if it hasn't already, which means weekends this month will be filled with spooky attractions, costume shopping, and trunk-or-treats soon. Some of that can be done now, and some of it will take place later this month. This weekend will be the first in October and there is tons of fun to be had in the Magic Valley at the events around the area.

Thursday, October 2, Through Saturday, October 4 - Tubbs Berry Farm

When fall rolls around, one of the best things to do is to get out to Tubbs Berry Farm in Twin Falls. They have a giant hay maze that requires you to find hole punches before exiting, and finding the exit before means turning around and going back in. The maze this year is in the shape of a duck, and you can try it in the day or do it at night to make it more challenging. They also have slides, a petting zoo, apple blasters, a bounce pad, and much more. They will be open on Thursday from 3 PM to 9 PM and on Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM. Thursday, October 2 and Saturday, October 4 - CSI Volleyball

The CSI volleyball team is having a fantastic season, and if you haven't caught a match yet, you need to. There are two chances to catch them this weekend. The team is currently 12-5 on the season, having won its last two matches. They will be in action on Thursday at CSI when they take on Colorado Northwestern Community College at 6 PM, and will then be in action again on Saturday when they take on Salt Lake Community College at 1 PM. Friday, October 3, Through Sunday, October 5 - AKC All Breed Dog Show

Many people in the Magic Valley have dogs and enjoy them, but have you ever taken in a dog show before? This week, the AKC All-Breed Dog Show will be happening at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday, October 3, Through Sunday, October 5 - Shop-Tober Sidewalk Sale

The fall is a great time to start holiday shopping, do some seasonal shopping, and begin looking for great deals. This weekend, the Shop-Tober Sidewalk Sale will be happening at the Magic Valley Mall, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Stop by and see what great deals they have and start your holiday and seasonal shopping this weekend.

Friday, October 3 - Watercolor Class - Irish Country Side

Have you always wanted to learn to paint? Perhaps you can and want to refine your skills. If so, make sure to go to the Historic Wilson Theatre in Rupert this Friday at 7 PM for a watercolor class, where you can paint the Irish countryside. Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4 - The Haunted Swamp

With the calendar having flipped to October, many will be excited to start focusing on spooky events and attractions. One of the best in the area is The Haunted Swamp. Some will cry, many will scream, and others will be too scared to even attempt it. The Haunted Swamp is open on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7:30 PM, with the last ticket being sold at 11 PM. Saturday, October 4 - Harvest Moon, Man and Machine Car Show

If you happen to be in the Buhl area this Saturday, stop by the Harvest Moon, Man, and Machine Car Show. The event is to help raise money for the Badgers football program for the youth in the area, and the event will be packed with fun things to enjoy. Saturday, October 4 - Movie Matinee

Going to the movies is always fun, but it can get a bit pricey. Instead of emptying the wallet, go to Movie Matinee at the Twin Falls Public Library instead. It is free, and the movie is family-friendly. Movie Matinee takes place at 3 PM on Saturday, and this week they will be showing 'Igor'. Sunday, October 5 - Doves on the Run 5K

Running a 5K is something many say they want to do, but never actually do. This weekend is your chance to take advantage of the cooler weather and finally participate in one. The Doves on the Run 5K is happening this Saturday and begins at 10 AM. The race will start at the Twin Falls Visitor Center and will end back at the visitor center as well.
