The driver of a pickup truck in Southern Idaho failed to yield at a stop sign, causing an accident that injured six people. Four of those injured were juveniles in the vehicle with a driver from Utah.

Both drivers were teenagers and sustained serious injuries, as did two passengers. Two other passengers reported minor injuries.

Pickup Truck Runs Stop Sign and Hits Car Occupied by Multiple UT Juveniles in ID

The Idaho State Police have released information regarding a two-vehicle accident that happened on Wednesday afternoon around 3:10 at the intersection of 200 W and 500 S in Minidoka County, near Heyburn. The report states:

  • An 18-year-old male from Paul ID, was driving a silver 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 traveling south-bound on 200 West.

  • A 19-year-old female from Utah was driving east-bound in a white 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan on 500 South.

  • The Dodge Ram failed to yield at the stop sign and struck the Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen also had four juvenile occupants at the time of the accident. Both drivers and two of the juveniles were taken by a ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries. A third juvenile passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the fourth passenger reported minor injuries but was not taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The driver of the Dodge and a passenger in the Volkswagen were not wearing seatbelts when the accident happened.

Idaho State Police are investigating the accident and were assisted by multiple other agencies at the scene of the crash.
