California has a lot of options for amusement parks. Most notable are probably Disneyland and Six Flags.

To see, and ride, the oldest roller coasters in California you have to head to the coast. The 2 oldest in the state are so old, they are listed among the most ancient in the entire world. The oldest coaster in the world still operating in its original location is the Scenic Railway in Melbourne, Australia. It was built in 1912 and is followed by the Rutschebanen in Denmark.
The monumental roller coasters in California were built just 1 year apart and share the same name.

Both of the oldest roller coasters in California are named Giant Dipper. The oldest, built in 1924 is in Santa Cruz at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The second sits in San Diego at Belmont Park.
The California Giant Dippers are the 7th and 8th oldest in the world. As a bonus, since this is the 100th birthday year for the Santa Cruz Giant Dipper, special days have discounted ticket prices - as low as $1! Tickets to Belmont Park run around $8 per Giant Dipper ride.
