The roads around Southern Idaho were dangerous and slick Tuesday as a snowstorm rolled through, leaving a layer of snow, ice, and slush. Multiple accidents were reported and while many people were left stranded in blocked traffic, there was also at least one fatality among the crashes.

One woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Ada County a few minutes before 9 in the morning and a multi-vehicle accident involving a reported 20 vehicles east of Twin Falls blocked the highway for hours.

Woman Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash in Boise

Tuesday morning at 8:54, an accident happened on I-84 at milepost 59, 2 miles south of Gowen Road/Orchard Street, in Ada County:

A 65-year-old female from Middleton was driving eastbound on I84 in a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup. The Dodge drove off the road into the median, overturned, and came to rest on its roof. The driver was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver was wearing her seatbelt and the road was only blocked for a short time. ISP is investigating the accident.

Multi-Vehicle Accident Near Twin Falls Tuesday

It was reported by residents and local TV News stations that there was a 20-vehicle pileup on I-84 near Twin Falls, but the number of vehicles has not been confirmed yet. The accident was verified and the highway was blocked for a few hours. It is also unknown if there were any injuries or fatalities.
