
2 Traffic Control Vehicles Hit Within 24 Hours of Each Other on Dangerous Idaho Highway
A semi-truck has reportedly hit a traffic control vehicle on Idaho’s new most dangerous highway. The accident happened on a section of highway in Southern Idaho that has been plagued by accidents this year.
The majority of the accidents have happened in an area of highway construction near Pocatello.
ISP Report Two Traffic Control Vehicles Hit on Idaho Highway Less Than 24 Hours Apart
The Idaho State Police have reported around a dozen accidents on Interstate 15 in Southern Idaho, and all but 3 have been in or near the construction zone north of Pocatello. The latest accident is one more on that list, and in the ISP report, they revealed that another traffic control vehicle was struck in the same spot less than 24 hours earlier.
According to the report from the ISP, the accident happened on northbound I-15 at mile marker 73 on Tuesday, December 10th, around 2:30 in the morning. ISP shared the details of the crash:
A semi-tractor and trailer struck a stationary traffic control vehicle equipped with a crash attenuator.
The collision tore open the trailer wall, spilled cargo onto the roadway, and heavily damaged the traffic control truck.
No serious injuries were reported, and the accident is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Idaho 511 is now reporting that the highway has reopened.
