One of Twin Falls biggest companies and employers has been hit with a class action lawsuit. A single party (Wysocki) filed the claim that alleges 'toxic' chemicals were present in yogurt produced by Chobani following independent testing.
Chobani, one of the world's largest makers of Greek yogurt, is on the receiving end of a class action lawsuit over 'man-made', plastic chemicals that were allegedly found to be present in food produced by the snack giant. Details of the claim were published recently by sources such as Top Class Actions and classaction.org.
Class Action Lawsuit Alleges 'Toxic' Chemicals Present in Chobani Yogurt
The company has been a major employer in Twin Falls since opening a hub in 2012. The Magic Valley plant currently employs roughly 1,100 workers from throughout southern Idaho and beyond to carry out various duties around the facility, which includes more than 20 production lines, according to Capital Press.
Chobani's founder, Hamdi Ulukaya, 52, started the company in 2006 on the East Coast. An independent research company called PlasticList reportedly tested samples of the yogurt brand and determined that multiple types of phthalates were allegedly present, which spurred on the lawsuit, according to classaction.org.
