Idaho River Likely Holds Answer To 2022 Missing Man’s Fate
Every year in Idaho, people experience accidents on state rivers. Some manage to make it to safety on their own, and others suffer a worse fate.
The Salmon River in central Idaho is known for its world-class rafting and fishing. Like many rivers, there are numerous sections where it's extremely dangerous to be in the water for those less experienced swimmers. The force of river currents is often underestimated by people who use the waterways recreationally.
On July 12, 2022, an area teenager disappeared in a section of the Salmon River approximately 150 miles northeast of Boise, near the community of Riggins. The incident was described as an "accident," according to The Charley Project.

According to reports, witnesses saw him in the water, but never witnessed him emerge. Numerous searches of the area have been conducted, but to date, Stansberry has never been found. River searches are generally far more dangerous than lake searches due to rapids and the presence of rocky terrain.
