A community vigil is happening tonight at the Twin Falls City Park. Culture For Change Foundation is organizing the event and they want to emphasize that it is a vigil, not a protest or demonstration.

According to the Facebook event, the vigil will be at 7 p.m. tonight, June 2nd as a "peaceful memorial to mourn the lives of black Americans lost at the hand of police and fellow citizens".

The Facebook Event also states that there will be candles provided but you can bring your own if you would like. They also ask that if you do make signs and bring them have them be Black Lives Matter related, the names of people who lost their lives and/or photos of them.

Even though it doesn't feel like it, COVID 19 is still around and large groups are still not really encouraged without social distancing so the organizer requests people respect social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask upon arrival and to keep them on. They will provide face masks if you do not have one and hand sanitizer will also be available.

Again this is supposed to be a peaceful vigil, no one wants to incite violence. If you want to participate that is great, if you don't that's great too. Let's respect everyone involved. The organizers are also requesting no weapons of any kind.
