Mountain West Post Season Football Honors
Boise State players grabbed three of the five individual post season awards for the 2019 football season.
Bronco linebacker Curtis Weaver is the defensive player of the year, punt returner Avery Williams the special teams player of the year and running back George Holani the freshman of the year.
Meantime, offensive player of the year went to Josh Love the quarterback for San Jose State and Nick Rolovich of Hawaii is the coach of the year.
Weaver has 13.5 sacks this year and his 34 career sacks makes him the Mountain West leader.
Williams is the only college football player to return two punts for touchdowns this season and he averages 12.8 yards per return.
Holani has rushed for 912 yards and 9 touchdowns as he tries to extend Boise State streak of 1,000 yard ruining backs to 11 straight seasons.
Holani was also named second team All Mountain West.
Weaver was named first team All Mountain West and is joined by Bronco teammate and safety Kekaula Kaniho.
Williams was tabbed first team offense and he is joined by lineman Ezra Cleveland and John Molchon.
Boise State, 11-1 will host 9-4 Hawaii Saturday 2pm for the Mountain West Championship. The Broncos need to win to keep their hopes of a Cotton Bowl bid alive and Bronco athletic director Curt Apsey today challenged Boise State fans to finish the season strong by filling the stadium.
