Sports, comic books, Pokémon, and other collectible enthusiasts in southern Idaho will get the opportunity to buy, sell, and marvel at rare items at an event planned at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer in a couple of weeks. Vendor tables are also available for those who would like to try to sell treasures from their collections.

As a decades-long collector of sports cards and memorabilia, it's exciting that there is an event geared toward those of us who enjoy tapping into our inner kid from time to time. The industry has exploded in the past five years and has grown more popular than ever worldwide, with businesses offering live, online auctions and chances to strike it rich with box breaks right before your eyes.

Enthusiasts can browse rows of vendors selling everything from comic books and Pokémon cards to sports items, jewelry, stickers, and more.

I'm still a sucker for card collecting. While I don't possess anything that's going to make me a millionaire, I've had a passion for the hobby for more than 40 years. My dad got me into the hobby when I was about six years old.

The Magic Valley Card Show is planned for May 24 from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. at the fairgrounds in Filer, located eight miles west of Twin Falls. Enthusiasts can browse rows of vendors selling everything from comic books and Pokémon cards to sports items, jewelry, stickers, and more.

This family-friendly event will also include raffles and giveaways. For information on becoming a vendor, call Brandon at  208-571-3192.
