A good vacation can benefit a person both mentally and physically. There are, however, some unsavory habits that travelers should try to avoid when visiting a new state or country for the first time as to avoid rubbing locals the wrong way.

One of the biggest tourist draws of Idaho is the outdoors. There are millions of acres of rugged backcountry that feature stunning lakes, rivers, mountain peaks, hot springs, and other natural landscapes.

Popular state vacation destinations like Boise and Coeur d'Alene offer a city feel but are within a stone's throw from beautiful scenery. Utah has five national parks and Washington State has more than 8,000 lakes, which make these states heavy tourist destinations as well.
