We're just one month away from the soft launch of Samsung and Oculus' collaborative project, the Gear VR Innovator Edition for the Note 4.

Oculus has announced that there will be two versions of its Samsung Gear VR headset. The virtual reality headset bundled with a Bluetooth gamepad will cost $249, while the lone headset will be priced at $199. This debut edition of the Gear VR will allow you not only to play games, but also develop them for the headset's format. However, if you don't think you're up to making your own game, there will be many VR apps shipped within the next few months that are specifically made for the Gear VR.

The Innovator Edition of the Gear VR is much like the Development Kit version of the Oculus Rift, which means that it's not the final, consumer version intended for the masses, but more for VR enthusiasts and would-be developers.

However, one thing you need to pay attention to is the headset's requirement of a Samsung Note 4. In order for you to use the Gear VR, you need to have a Samsung Note 4 plugged into it to use the headset.

If you're as excited as most people about the Gear VR, you can pre-register to get one from Samsung.
