None have been large, but the recent swarm of small earthquakes near Seattle is more than enough to get your attention.

As of Thursday night, more than a dozen earthquakes near Seattle have been reported by the Seattle Times. According to them, the largest has registered 3.6 on the Richter Scale.

The USGS site also shows quakes of magnitude 3.5, 3.4 and 2.6.

All of these small quakes are reminders of the major concern of a much bigger quake at some point in the future. CBS News, The Atlantic and other news outlets last year reported that scientists are on edge due to growing pressure on faults in the area including plates offshore.
