Super Meat Boy and Giana Sisters Crossover Hinted by German Ratings Board
A new listing by Germany's Game Ratings Board suggests that Super Meat Boy and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams are going to be crossing over as a 2D platforming hybrid.
Joystiq reports that two of the most impressive indie-made 2D platformers of the past generation could be colliding together in a new, collaborative project: Giana Sisters vs. Super Meat Boy.
We are rather surprised to see that both of these titles are being put together into a single project, especially considering Team Meat, the indie studio responsible for Super Meat Boy, has been relatively quiet about its future projects. Not to mention Super Meat Boy was a very... meat-oriented with its buzz-saws and death traps, while Giana Sisters was much more fantastical and clean-cut in its presentation.
What could this mash-up mean in terms of gameplay? Stay tuned for more coverage of Giana Sisters vs. Super Meat Boy once Headsup Games announces its plans for the project.
Update: A press release from Headup Games has confirmed that Giana Sisters vs. Super Meat Boy is not a new game in any form. Instead, it is simply a bundle of Super Meat Boy and Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.
