Three Charged with Attempted Murder in Mini-Cassia Area
BURLEY, Idaho (KLIX)-Three people in the Mini-Cassia area have been jailed and charged with attempted murder along with other charges including burglary.
The Cassia County Sheriff's Office lists 37-year-old Kiresten Goddard, 25-year-old Martin Castro-Ibarra, and 24-year-old Jesus Soto Rodriguez in custody on attempted murder charges, including discharging a firearm at a house and burglary charges. Soto Rodriquez is also facing conspiracy to commit murder as is Castro-Ibarra. Goddard is also charged with aiding abetting in burglary.
According to charging documents, Cassia County Sheriff's deputies were called out to a home on 460 S and 650 E southeast of Burley on February 6, for a report of shots fired and fight. According to deputies Jesus Soto Rodriquez had been drinking and fighting with people at the house. After the fight was broken up Rodriguez allegedly called for Martin Castro-Ibarra to come pick him and and told him to bring a gun.
About an hour later Castro-Ibarra arrived with his girl friend Kiresten Goddard from Wendell. Rodriguez allegedly got a gun from Castro-Ibarra and went inside the home and shot at the man he had gotten into a fight with earlier and beat him with help from Castro-Ibarra. The two then got in the car with Goddard driving, but they were later stopped and arrested.
