Police in a small Washington State community west of Moscow, Idaho, have been searching for the killer of a pregnant mother and her unborn child for over 13 years.

Very little is known about what happened to an expecting mother of three who was shot numerous times while unloading groceries around 11 P.M. outside her home on a winter evening in 2012.

All that's known of the perpetrator based on witness descriptions is the killer was a man wearing a dark hoodie that covered his head and face. He fired numerous times, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office website. The murder of both the mother and unborn child happened in the community of Mattawa, 150 miles west of Moscow, Idaho.

Mestizo had no know links to gangs or drug dealers, and was nearly eight months pregnant when she was gunned down, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office. It was a heartless, cowardly act committed by a cowardly man. The murderer was seen running from the area after shots were fired.
