Uptick In CA Republican Votes Expected In Nov; Support Expanding
With roughly 15 weeks to go until the November presidential election, state-reported numbers show a rise in Republican party support in California over the past five months. Former President Trump held multiple fundraisers in the Golden State recently and raised millions of dollars for his campaign.
California has been predominately Democratic since Bill Clinton took out George H.W. Bush in the early nineties. Joe Biden gathered over 60 percent of state votes when he squared off against Donald Trump in the 2020 election and became the 46th president of the United States. With Biden out and Kamala Harris now in the blue driver's seat, it's unclear how many Biden supporters will stick around to support Harris.
While the state is still heavily democratic, there does appear to be much more support for Trump this time around. Of course, we won't know how much that equates to until November.
Donald Trump held multiple fundraisers in California recently. This time around, there appeared to be bigger crowds on the street waiving "Trump 2024" signs and wearing red ball caps. From Orange County to the Bay Area, massive support for Trump was evident in June. Almost parade-like excitement swelled in Southern California where Trump focused his efforts.
There has been a sizable turning of the tide among registered voters in the state, according to a recent report by KCRA. While the state is still heavily democratic, there does appear to be much more support for Trump this time around. Of course, we won't know how much that equates to until November.
