
Utah Mom Probed After Feces Allegedly Found In Child’s Catheter
A northern Utah mother is being investigated for allegedly putting bacteria in her ill child's PICC line. Nurses at a state hospital the boy was being treated at reported the suspected abuse after he repeatedly became sick during his mother's visits, which jumpstarted the investigation into the matter.
Those charged with crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
A North Logan mother has been charged with aggravated child abuse after her son grew ill from repeated infections in her presence and needed to be admitted to multiple care facilities in Utah and Colorado, according to details shared by KSL.com. North Logan City is located less than 25 miles from the southern Idaho border.

The 34-year-old mother of the boy was charged earlier this month with aggravated abuse, which is a second-degree felony, according to KSL.com. During one exam, the child was found to have human feces in his catheter, according to KSL.com. Nurses brought their suspicions to hospital management who contacted police.
Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy is a form of mental illness and abuse where a parent intentionally causes sickness in their child. It hasn't been determined if this illness played a role in this case. Those charged with crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
