Video Shows Skier Trigger Massive Southern Idaho Avalanches

Late December in southern Idaho means cold temperatures, night skiing and avalanche warnings. Last week, the Sawtooth Avalanche Center issued a warning to those heading to higher elevations over the holidays to be particularly careful.

Snowmobilers and skiers are notorious for triggering slides. I recently came across this YouTube video from 2016 that shows just how easy it is to become caught in an avalanche. This particular one involved a skier on Della Mountain near Hailey, Idaho.
