Twin Falls Police / Facebook

Part of the job of being a police officer or fire fighter includes assisting not just people in times of need, but on occasion, a 1,000 pound animal that loses a battle with its footing.

Twin Falls Police and fire personnel responded to not a piper down on Sunday, but instead a large bovine. The animal--like most of us this past weekend--couldn't avoid mud from recent snow melt. The image was posted on the department's Facebook page on March 4.

Thanks to the two departments and its owner, the animal didn't suffer any serious injuries and is probably face deep in a trough right now. For those of us whose biggest problem of the day might be low toner, these men and women step up on a daily basis and handle a myriad of problems, both clean and filthy.

Great job to all involved coming to the aid of this animal.
