Here's some Idaho wildlife that you don't expect to find in your backyard.

We were surprised to find crayfish on our sidewalk at the radio station this morning. Knowing that these animals live in a wet environment, it didn't take us long to figure out that they were living in the irrigation ditch, just outside our studio.

For some reason, when I think of crayfish, I don't think of them living in Idaho. I picture Idaho as a desert state and sometimes overlook the fact that Idaho is teeming with water life.

Idaho has four different species of crayfish living all over the state.

If you've never eaten crawfish before, they can be quite tasty. You can legally catch them with a standard Idaho fishing license.

Are you seeing these where you live?
