TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The woman accused of a fatal hit-and-run pleaded guilty to amended charges Monday at her scheduled pretrial conference in Twin Falls district court.

Hollie Winnett, 33, was accused of hitting Twin Falls firefighter Ryan Franklin while he was riding his bike then leaving the scene of the accident earlier this year. Franklin died at the scene.

Winnett’s sentencing date has been set for March 17 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Randy Stoker at the Twin Falls County Courthouse.

Winnett plead guilty to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter as well as felony leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death.

Winnett faces up to 90 days in county jail, and an undetermined amount of time of probation, community service and fines. County Prosecutor Grant Loebs said the victim’s family was fully consulted in the plea agreement process.

Winnett plead not guilty to charges in September and a jury trial was scheduled for Jan. 24.

Winnett told police that she was driving on 2900 North after dropping her children off at school when she fell asleep at the wheel and hit something. She said she stopped to see what she had hit and didn't see anything on the roadway or the shoulder.
