Yellowstone Park Wolves Give Tourists Rare Daytime Photo Op
I've passed through the entrance gates to Yellowstone National Park a few times in my days and I'm blown away with its raw beauty every time I return. Some park visitors were given the photo opportunity of a lifetime recently when a pack of wolves climbed a trail less than 100 yards in front of them in broad daylight.
Yellowstone is an incredible tourist destination due to its abundance of wildlife, volcanic history, and thermal pools, and the one thing people need to remember when visiting is that the park is also very dangerous for people. Just a couple of weeks ago a massive explosion took place in Biscuit Basin that nearly killed some tourists and forced the closure of the area's walking platforms.
I have never been lucky enough to see wolves or bears while visiting Yellowstone Park, so this group really had a stroke of good luck to have them climb a trail so close to them. What an incredible experience that must have been for them.
There have been well over 100 deaths in the park in the past 50 years, according to becklawyers.com. From traffic collisions to people falling into thermal pools, and confrontations with animals such as bears and bison, the risks are extremely high with so many tourists attracting the attention of the park's animals. Recently, a small group of park visitors were treated to a rare, daylight sighting of a pack of wolves; the video was shared on YouTube.
