When I go shopping, the last thing I think about is buying tamales from someone selling them out of the trunk of their car. I keep running into the same person outside a popular Twin Falls store and lately have been tempted to try them out.

For starters, I'm a germophobe. I also rarely eat anything that wasn't prepared by either my wife or myself. I've had coworkers over the years make food for work functions and I generally will not try any of it. This fear is called cibophobia.

It's not any sort of eating disorder in my case, but instead simply a fear of consuming something that was prepared in the home of a total stranger. And yet, I have no issues eating out at restaurants; I'm as confused as you are.

I could use some feedback from anyone who can vouch for these parking lot pushers of goodness because my anxiety may prevent me from trying something truly delicious.

For years, the Twin Falls Fred Myer has been my go-to store largely because it's right at the end of the street from the home I bought. I also have seen the same man carrying a shoulder bag full of tamales throughout the parking lot for years and have never considered trying what is probably an incredible family recipe. I'm curious if any Twin Falls residents have tried this man's tamales.

YouTube is full of videos of people telling its viewers to try these foods made by strangers. Some claim they're the best tamales they've ever had.
