Blizzard Partners With Dark Horse Comics for World of Warcraft Book Series
Dark Horse Comics is the new Loremaster in Azeroth as it plans to release a multi-volume book series, World of Warcraft: Chronicle.
Azeroth's pre-Warcraft: Orcs & Humans history is getting flushed out in Dark Horse Comics' upcoming World of Warcraft: Chronicle book series. Chronicle Volume 1 will be telling a story long before the Alliance and Horde were ever formed. It will inform us of the Titans, the Old Gods and the ancient civilizations of Azeroth that were around long before Orgrimmar and Stormwind were made.
“We often get questions from players who want to know more about the origins of the Warcraft universe, and the rise and fall of their favorite characters” said Paul Sams, Chief Operating Officer of Blizzard Entertainment. “This new series digs deeply into all of that—we can’t wait for players to read it.”
Chronicle Volume 1 is going to be a hardcover book that will have 20+ fully illustrated pages (yay, these books have pictures) throughout it by World of Warcraft artist Peter Lee. Unfortunately, we still have no word on who are the writers on board for this project.
“This is an amazing project that will be absolutely irresistible to the legion of Warcraft fans. The people at Blizzard have been great to work with and we are extremely happy and proud to be working with them,” said Dark Horse President Mike Richardson.
World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 will hit comic shops on Nov. 4 and bookstores on Nov. 17.
We'll never forget the big Corrupted Blood outbreak of '05.
