
California Desert Hotel Comes Complete With Lobby Boat Cruise
Southern California is the ultimate playground for the wealthy. One hotel that's located in the desert northeast of San Diego gives its occupants a complimentary boat cruise from the lobby outside to a sun-soaked lagoon.
I've stayed in some nice hotels in Southern California. Spyglass Hotel in Pismo Beach is one I highly recommend. The Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel is also hard to top.
I recently got an alert on my phone that guided me to a unique lodging opportunity in the Southern California desert near Palm Springs. Palm Springs is a top destination in the state for retiring and is just 140 miles northeast of San Diego.
One thing people might want to consider if these prices are too high is staying at a nearby cheaper hotel and sneaking into the Marriot's pool in the afternoon. It's so massive I don't know how they'd police such actions.

The JW Marriot Desert Springs Resort & Spa has rooms starting at about $360 a night. That's a bit too rich for my taste, but should I receive a massive tax return (yea right) in the next few years, I might have to indulge myself and stay a weekend there.
The hotel boasts an incredibly impressive lobby with a sushi restaurant and sprawling lounge, massive swimming pools, a golf course, private balconies, flamingos, waterfalls, and stunning fountains. A stay in one of the hotel's more posh rooms will run you more like $600 a night.
One thing people might want to consider if these prices are too high is staying at a nearby cheaper hotel and sneaking into the Marriot's pool in the afternoon. It's so massive I don't know how they'd police such actions. You may not get the full treatment, but you can tan just as well as the wealthy souls who can afford to stay there.
