Two Los Angeles area men have spent more than 50 days skateboarding across America with their final stop slated to be New York City. They've skated through sunshine, rain, hail, and snow and despite a few blisters are in great shape for the rest of the trip.

I first saw jaayfilms Instagram page (Jay Vanporppal) pop up on my feed about 40 days ago. I missed the first week or so of their epic, never-been-done-before effort to skateboard nearly 3,000 miles. The fact that Jay and Oreo started this insane journey in the first couple of days of fall has made the adventure more challenging due to the colder weather as they head further east.

Keep pushing bros! The feeling when you reach New York will be unforgettable. God speed!

I remember scrolling upon their Instagram page as they were navigating their way through Colorado in the snow and thinking, "Man. These guys are nuts." Now, I feel the need to check in on them almost daily to make sure they aren't losing the drive to complete the trip; I would have probably dropped dead somewhere near Pasadena from fatigue.

I've done what thousands of other people have done over the past nearly two months and posted words of encouragement to their Instagram. They are a couple of humble, humorous, and driven self-proclaimed coffee-drinking maniacs. One of the funniest things I've seen so far was when Jay couldn't believe he scored a cup of coffee for $.50 along the way instead of the $7 or $8 he would have forked over in California.
