‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special 2013 Sneak Peek: Whose Goose Is Cooked?
We're but five days away from 'Doctor Who''s epic Christmas Special, "The Time of the Doctor," (also Christmas itself, if you want to split hairs), meaning we've got to soak up all the time left with series star Matt Smith before Peter Capaldi takes over in the lead role. To that end, check out the first clip of the special with Smith and Jenna Louise-Coleman's Clara, along with a tease of Peter Capaldi's newest regeneration!
The first official look at "The Time of the Doctor" sees the Doctor visiting Clara for Christmas dinner innocently enough, though the pair soon resort to more sci-fi measures to have everything prepared in time. Additionally, the BBC released a brief teaser of new star Peter Capaldi in the title role, albeit the intense eye footage we saw from 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor."
Says The BBC’s official description of the special:
Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars – and amongst them, the Doctor.
Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.
Additional reports claim that the special will answer a number of continuity mysteries from Matt Smith’s tenure, among them the true regeneration numbering that became complicated both by John Hurt‘s portrayal of “The War Doctor” and a regeneration used up during David Tennant‘s run.
Take a look at the first clip from "The Time of the Doctor" above, and don't forget about Capaldi's debut below! Will you put the holidays on pause to say goodbye to Matt Smith in "The Time of the Doctor?"
