Driver Recovering After Crashing Car Into South Idaho McDonald’s

This story is just itching for a drive-thru joke, but I'm going to pass on it. An unidentified, Idaho motorist, is extremely lucky to have not caused injury to someone after failing to yield to the exterior of a McDonald's restaurant in Boise on Tuesday.

The incident took place December 3, 2019, at the fast food chain's Fairview Avenue and Mitchell Street location, shortly after 11:00 a.m., according to a report shared by at idahostatesman.com. More than half of the driver's Nissan Murano broke through the building's window, coming to rest with its rear on the sidewalk, and the front of the automobile on a table. Thankfully, no one was seated in the immediate area where the car impacted.

The Boise Police Department responded to the incident that left broken glass, brick, and other debris scattered throughout the impact site. No serious injuries have been reported, but one person is said to have sustained a minor injury. Severe damage was caused to the building's exterior, as well as dining area.

Judging from the scene, the motorist failed to brake, and accelerated into a parking spot, jumping the curb and contacting the building. The motorist's name has not been made public. No tickets were issued by police to the motorist, according to the report.

It's not known if the injured person was a customer or employee. The age of the driver has not been disclosed either. Area police and fire were dispatched to the location.
