
Retired Couple Searches For Idaho Drowning Victims In Spare Time
When someone is suspected of having drowned, there is a short window of time for rescue or recovery teams to locate them.
Currents and tides can move a body a great distance in a short time. Response times need to be quick to increase the chances of locating victims. Some are contacted long after the accident is reported.
It takes a unique individual to accept someone's request to navigate waters where the best outcome is a fatality. One retired Gem State couple has been doing just that for years.
Idaho Retired Husband and Wife Help Locate Drowning Victims in Free Time

Gene and Sandy Ralston use their own boat and resources to help locate those who have been lost underwater. For more than 20 years, they have traveled throughout Idaho helping bring families closure and law enforcement definitive proof, according to The Guardian.

Their services have not just been requested regarding Idaho cases. The two have also helped police with cases in other states, including California, where they located four murder victims in a large reservoir east of Stockton in 2002.
Another diver with a high success rate for locating drowning victims, and who is known to travel out of state to assist in these types of cases, is Juan Heredia. Heredia is one of the leading divers in the country with the experience and expertise to hunt down victims in all types of water rescues.
Thank God we have people like this in the world.
