
Fundraiser Live For Girl Seriously Injured At Idaho Potato Drop
A fundraiser in underway to help a southern Idaho family recover from an injury that took place during an annual New Year's Eve celebration in Boise.
A young girl suffered serious injuries Thursday morning during a pyrotechnics display that coincided with the annual Boise Potato Drop along West Bannock Street.
As the drop was taking place just as the midnight hour was arriving, several windows in the downtown area shattered as pyrotechnic teams fired off small explosives. One young girl named Isabella was struck in the face with glass, according to the GoFundMe page.

To date, the fundraising effort has raised over $14,000 with a goal of $22,000.

The young girl underwent a three hour surgery following the accident and required a skin graft, according to the GoFundMe page.
According to multiple reports, shockwaves blew out numerous windows in the downtown area. Money raised will help the family pay for 'overwhelming' medical bills, rehabilitation, and therapy.
'We are deeply grateful to the first responder on scene who ensured Bella was transported safely and quickly, as well as the compassionate bystanders who stopped to help in those terrifying moments,' is a quote from the child's fundraising page.
The annual event includes vendors, music, and a fireworks show and draws several thousand people to downtown Boise. City staffers continue the clean up efforts after Thursday's incident. Busted windows have been boarded up and caution tape can still be seen throughout the downtown area.
