HAILEY, Idaho (KLIX)-Sheriff's investigators in the Wood River Valley are trying to determine the cause of a fatal crash Sunday afternoon on State Highway 75.

According to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, at around 5:41 p.m. 50-year-old Jeffrey Browne, of Hailey, was taken to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center after the crash just north of Hailey, but was later pronounced dead. Browne had been driving south on the highway in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee when it went off the road through a fence and high-centered in some brush.

The first deputy to arrive found the Jeep still running and broke out the window to shut it off, he then provided medical aid until EMTs arrived and took over. The sheriff's office said Browne had not been wearing a seat belt.
