Idaho Autistic Man Is Magic With His Hands, Hosting Event
Every human possesses the ability to be creative.
One southern Idaho man has been producing marvelous items made primarily from wood from his garage, and is hosting a sale over the next couple of weekends.
I'm always amazed at people who excel at wordworking. The amount of patience and time that goes into the process eliminates me automatically from pursuing the hobby.
Kadon Thompson, 29, is a woodworking whiz himself. Thompson was diagnosed with autism at the age of four, but that hasn't prevented him from graduating from Canyon Ridge High School and discovering that his brain and hands work very well together.
I had the great privilege of working for a company that specialized in preparing adults with learning disabilities for independent living. I made some amazing connections and remain friends with a number of those incredible people who taught me a great deal and opened my eyes to a completely different world.

The autistic people I spent time with five days a week were some of the sharpest humans I've ever met. Most of those I shared classrooms with had more creativity and kindness in their pinky than I have in my entire body.

Art, music, movies, literature--their minds were like steel traps when it came to absorbing new lesson plans, and I'll forever remember my time as an instructor and podcast host with them.
Kadon makes bird houses, boxes, benches, and other items. He spends winters working on his creations, according to his mother, Jennifer.
'He puts his heart into these, and every year he sells them in order to make money to buy more wood and paint', said Jennifer on a Facebook post she shared this week.
Kadon will be selling his works, ranging in price from $3 to $25, today (Friday, Aug 15), Saturday, as well as next weekend (Saturday, Aug 23). Kadon has been hosting these sales for years, and the community has been wonderful, according to mom.
'For five years the community has came to support him and we are so grateful for everyone'.
If you would like to meet Kadon and take a look at his amazing work, you are invited to pass by 2155 Alta Vista Circle, Twin Falls. Kadon will be outside between 8 AM and 1:30 PM on the days mentioned.
