A Caldwell woman is pursuing legal action against the city after her mother was laid to rest in the wrong burial plot.

Cemetery operators have a tough job. They deal with constant sorrow and grief. They also charge a lot of money to carry out burials, and it's not common that we hear about the deceased being laid to rest incorrectly.

While the recent Idaho case does paint an unpleasant picture of the cemetery, it's not nearly as horrible as allowing dozens of bodies to decay like food in a walk-in freezer.

A Caldwell woman has filed a lawsuit alleging her mother was buried in the wrong spot, according to details provided by KTVB. In recent years, stories of bodies being improperly stored have made national headlines, but it's not often we hear about them being placed in plots not meant for them.

I'm not sure if the woman's loved ones weren't present at the time of the burial to prevent such a thing from happening, or if the cemetery staff just got things mixed up, but regardless, it's a strange story indeed.

Last year, a Colorado funeral home improperly stored close to 200 bodies resulting in the owners being arrested after fleeing to another state. There is no excuse for making such an egregious error.
