Ned LeDoux's Tribute Tour Honors His Father Chris LeDoux's Legacy

4The legacy of rodeo and country music legend Chris LeDoux lives on in his son Ned LeDoux.

The Bareback Jack Tour - A Tribute To Chris LeDoux stops at the historic Colonial Theater in Idaho Falls, Thursday, Sept. 17.

Ned LeDoux grew up in a unique household. One filled with music and the family band, and the ranch and rodeo life.

His dad is the late, great Chris LeDoux. Bareback bucking world champion in 1976, and country music trailblazer and icon.

Chris LeDoux recorded 36 albums in his lifetime, most in his home, which he then sold at rodeos and ranch stores.

He finally broke through with Garth Brooks' 1989 hit "Much Too Young To Feel This Damn Old" with the lyric "Worn out tape of Chris LeDoux".

That thrust the Casper, Wyoming rodeo cowboy/singer/songwriter into the spotlight and led to a friendship with Garth and a string of hits on country radio before succumbing to a rare form of bile duct cancer in 2005 at the age of 56.

His musical influence led his son Ned LeDoux to follow in his musical footsteps and build a music career of his own.

Ned told me in a recent interview, "This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of dad winning the bareback championship of the world in 1976. We were wanting to do something special to celebrate that." He went on to say "The whole show is gonna be nothing but dad's songs."

Only a handful of cities were selected for this special tribute tour. Idaho Falls, Idaho is one of them.
