California is Home to the Top Four Chicken Sandwiches in the Country

California is known to have some incredible food. When most people think of food on the West Coast, they think of some of the best seafood or Mexican food around, and they wouldn't be wrong to think that. That isn't all they have that is good though, as there are plenty of options for a variety of food types, and most of them are good. One of the most popular food items that people enjoy is a good ole chicken sandwich. With so many options in California, it can be tough to find the best one, but one list recently revealed the best fast-food chicken sandwiches and California is home to the top four.

The Best Chicken Sandwich in California

Reader's Digest recently released a list of the top eight fast food chicken sandwiches in the county, and not surprisingly, California is home to many on the list. The number one sandwich according to the list is Popeye's. Anyone who remembers when the sandwich hit the menu a few years ago, and the lines that went around buildings, often flowing out into the street, will not be surprised by this. The sandwich is bigger than many on the list and is a desired meal as well. Coming in at number two on the list is one that many also enjoy, which is the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. Rounding out the top three is a surprise, with the KFC chicken sandwich. Many think of buckets of chicken, and not the sandwich when they think of KFC, but they proudly claim the bronze medal on this list. 

Chicken Sandwiches in California

California is also home to number four on the list which is Wendy's, but misses out on being home to the top five, as Culver's claims the spot. One issue with the list is who is left off of it. Popular fast food chains, such as Sonic, Carl's Jr, and Jack in the Box, are all left off. Is it a fair list, when some places that also offer chicken sandwiches, and good ones at that, are omitted from the list? While these fast food chains offer great chicken sandwiches, there are many local places in the Golden State worthy of being considered, but sadly, like others, are left off the list.
